Warm Welcome at Winter Warmer Drop-ins

This winter, the Devon Mental Health Alliance and Mental Health Matters have partnered to run weekly ‘Winter Warmer’ sessions across Devon. These are friendly, welcoming spaces to help you stay well throughout the colder months. The Winter Warmer sessions run alongside Devon Mental Health Alliance’s regular Drop-in sessions situated across Devon.

One of DMHA’s Sessional Recovery Practitioners, working at the Exeter-based Winter Warmer sessions, told us about how the launch has positively impacted community members.

“The Winter Warmer drop-in has got off to a great start with regular visitors enjoying jigsaws, colouring, knitting, and crochet. Community members have supported each other, sharing skills and emotional support at The Moorings, behind Wonford House. The space has a lovely, welcoming, calm atmosphere and it's been great collaborating with colleagues from Mental Health Matters to deliver additional support in the community. We are also located close to the RISE Mood disorder clinic in the main DPT building, and have had a visit from researchers to introduce the clinic and inform community members about what their service offers.” - Esther, a DMHA Sessional Recovery Practitioner

Winter Warmers has launched 3 new Drop-in locations in Devon: Exeter, Barnstaple and Paignton, open December 2025 - May 2026.
