Job Description
Job Title: Sessional Recovery Practitioner
Main Purpose:
To support the Devon Mental Health Alliance (DMHA) with facilitating face to face drop in sessions (public and peer support) Co facilitating sessions with a colleague the post holder will need to plan and set up and deliver weekly sessions that engage people, offering support and sign posting to those attending in relation to their mental health and other factors that impact on their health and wellbeing
Other tasks will include making telephone calls to potential clients to support their attendance at sessions and offering practical support with issues such as utility bills, health appointments, and basic benefit and housing information as required
Training and induction will be provided along with a mobile phone and laptop
Salary: Up to £25,500 full-time equivalent
Term: Fixed term until 31st January 2027, with an additional 4 hour Fixed term until 31st May 2026
Location: Bideford and Barnstaple. Mileage will be paid at 45p per mile as agreed.
Hours: Part-time 16 hours per week until 31st May 2026 – then reducing to 12 hours per week until 31st January 2027
Reporting to: Community Activities Coordinator
Annual leave: You will be entitled to 6.6 weeks holiday (pro-rata), plus 1 day (7.5 hours maximum) ‘birthday leave’, at your normal basic rate of pay each holiday year.
Pension: NEST Workplace Pension Scheme

Interviews
Interviews are planned to take place face to face the week beginning 17th November 2025. The purpose of the interview is to expand on the information you have provided on your application so we can make a judgement on the extent to which you meet, or exceed, the selection criteria. We aim to do this fairly and objectively, and the questions we ask will be specifically aimed to test the selection criteria.
