We’re looking for feedback about the provision of crisis cafés in Devon

There are currently four crisis cafés operating across Devon to support people with their mental health: Head Space in Plymouth, delivered by Colebrook, and The Moorings in Barnstaple, Exeter and Torquay, delivered by Mental Health Matters.

Crisis cafés provide out-of-hours support for people struggling with their mental health in a non-clinical setting with a safe, calm, and structured environment, where individuals can go to access non-judgmental support. As well as these four spaces, people across Devon, Plymouth, and Torbay can access support for free 24/7 by way of ‘first response’ phone lines.

As the commissioner for the crisis cafés, Devon Partnership NHS Trust is always looking to ensure we provide people with the best possible care and support. We are therefore asking for your help with a review we are undertaking into the current provision of local crisis cafés. As part of this review, we are seeking out engagement from people who may have used the cafés, their family and carers, staff, and other stakeholders so we can better understand the needs of those involved in crisis cafés.
