Celebrating the work of one of our Mental Health Recovery Practitioners

Devon Mental Health Alliance Recovery Practitioners deliver psychologically-informed interventions through one-to-one and group work sessions. They link with the wider community to ensure that people have access to effective local support and work closely with GPs, primary care networks, and mental health teams to help reduce wait times and ensure support.

Service users have an opportunity to reflect on the progress that that they have made with their Recovery Practitioner; following their intervention work, they can rate how happy they are with the outcome of their personal programme. These are graded on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being “not happy” and 5 being “very happy” with the service received.

We are delighted to share that service users in the South Devon locality (including Torbay) have rated Sarah, one of our Recovery Practitioners, with a score of 5. Some of the supportive comments shared include the following:

“Sarah was very attentive and kind with me and did her best to help.”

“I found Sarah very helpful and easy to talk to. I am trying different things as advised by you.”

Sarah, who has been working as a Recovery Practitioner with the Alliance since June and holds a caseload of over 25 people, said: “I really value working with clients and being part of the Devon Mental Health Alliance, and it is really positive to hear that clients are pleased with the service we are offering.”

Ed, Locality Manager for the South and East/Mid Devon localities, added: “The positive outcomes that Sarah has been able to achieve in such a short space of time are fantastic. Sarah has been a big part of the service, hitting the ground running in one of the highest-need areas in the county. Our service is still in a fledgling stage, but comments like these give us all reassurance that we are heading in the right direction.”
