We’re working closely with social prescribers and wellbeing coaches across East & Mid Devon

Across Devon, dozens of social prescribers, community connectors, and wellbeing coaches work hard to help people struggling to access the right support and activities in their communities. As the mental health needs of our populations have increased over the last few years, so too have the complexity and workload that these amazing workers handle.

Partnering with Involve in Mid and West Devon, Devon Communities Together, and the Devon Wellbeing Hub, our Community Mental Health Development Leads in the Eastern Devon locality recently organised a day for social prescribers in Mid Devon and Exeter to come together and think about their own wellbeing and working more sustainably.

It was an incredible day filled with the Swedish practice of Fika, thinking about the importance of looking after ourselves, taking time to really hear from each other how we are doing, and practicing gratitude — not to mention the gorgeous lunch provided by Exeter Community Centre’s Mulberry Street Cafe!

If you or your team are providing support to individuals in Devon, and would like more support for yourselves, please reach out to Devon Wellbeing Hub who are able to provide that on a 1:1 basis or for your whole team.

If you are interested in being part of a peer network for social prescribers, community connectors, and health and wellbeing coaches in Eastern Devon, please get in touch with our Eastern Devon Community Mental Health Development Leads who are exploring this possibility. Simply email the team at east@mentalhealthdevon.co.uk.
