The Intersection launching a new project thanks to the Alliance Innovation Fund

The Devon Mental Health Alliance Innovation Fund has been awarded to The Intersection by our Community Mental Health Development Leads in Plymouth & West Devon.

The Intersection supports the wellness and spirituality of people facing marginalisation, who want to explore these aspects of their lives, and to develop ways to improve them, becoming empowered in their lives and in the context of all their identities. It uses a variety of techniques and activities to help people explore what can bring them to, and support, wellness. These includes holistic therapies and workshops on nature connection, creativity, meditation, reflection, and other related activities.

The organisation works to bring wellness and spirituality to those who find it inaccessible. Often, this can happen because people face marginalisation and/or lie at an intersection of various experiences, which means there are barriers to reaching helpful and supportive information and activities. The Intersection team works with people to identify, explore, and value the intersection of their wellness, spirituality, and other aspects of their lives and experiences.

The funding from the Devon Mental Health Alliance’s Innovation Fund will see the launch of a new project, Listen In. This project is open to adults with marginalised identities, who would like to join the team for outdoor workshops to explore identity, sound, and place. They will use a variety of techniques to connect to the local area, including recordings, digital tools, and discussions. The project will leave behind a variety of media, accessible on The Intersection website, for all to explore.
