The Hope Gardening Project

The Hope Gardening Project runs from the Salvation Army Hall in Ilfracombe, and received an £800 grant through the DMHA Innovation fund in 2024. The project enables people to join and learn about propagation of houseplants and edible plants (herbs and brewing flowers), creating a social space to share plants, knowledge and company. People can bring plants along for propagation, so the project has absolutely minimal on-costs, making it sustainable as plants are propagated and then shared within the community. This project has enabled those attending the DMHA drop in held at the Salvation Hall in Ilfracombe to participate in gardening, sustaining the planters and getting green fingers in exchange for plants Drop In clients can take home to brighten rooms.
