Plymouth to Welcome New Mental Health & Recovery Drop-ins this June
The Devon Mental Health Alliance is pleased to announce the growth of our Mental Health and Recovery Drop-ins, with the launch of three new weekly drop-in spaces from early June across Plymouth. These new drop-ins, located at Central Park Hub, Rees Family & Wellbeing Hub, and Efford Wellbeing Hub, are in addition to our current offers in Whitleigh and Plymouth City Centre. Representing an important step forward in improving access to timely, person-centred support across the city.
The new Plymouth locations build on an already well-established network of 19 Mental Health & Recovery Drop-ins across Devon, including our weekly drop-ins currently available in Whitleigh and Plymouth City Centre. Working closely with Plymouth communities, we understand the barriers people face in accessing support across the city. In response, Devon Mental Health Alliance will host a drop-in every weekday across Plymouth, in the following areas:
Whitleigh - Mondays, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Four Green Community Trust, Whitleigh, PL5 4DD
Central Park - Tuesdays, 1-4pm*
Central Park Hub, Mayflower Dr, PL2 3DG
*Starting 9th June
Plympton - Wednesdays, 1-4pm*
Rees Family & Wellbeing Hub, Plympton, PL7 2PS
*Starting 10th June
City Centre - Thursdays, 1-4pm
Sherwell United Church, North Hill, PL4 8ER
Efford - Fridays, 1-4pm*
Efford Wellbeing and Family Hub, Torridge Way, PL3 6JQ
*Starting 12th June
All Mental Health & Recovery Drop-in sessions are:
Free to attend
Open to anyone aged 18+
Available without referral, appointment, or diagnosis
Our Drop-ins offer:
An opportunity to speak directly with trained Recovery Practitioners
Information and guidance on local mental health services
A chance to meet peers and connect with others in your community
Importantly, the spaces are co-produced and shaped by those who attend them, ensuring they remain responsive, welcoming, and relevant to local needs.
As key delivery partners, Devon Mind and Livewell Southwest play a central role in facilitating the Plymouth Drop-in sessions, bringing their established expertise to help people find the right support for them.
“The spaces are multi-agency supported, and sessions will also be attended by other local health and wellbeing organisations, offering additional advice, guidance, and practical support.” - Devon Mind
Looking ahead, there are plans to further enhance this offer by introducing single-session interventions within these spaces, an approach that will allow us to provide more targeted support when needed.
