Devon Mental Health Alliance Joins Community at Freedom Fields Festival

The Devon Mental Health Alliance (DMHA) proudly took part in Plymouth’s Freedom Fields Festival on Saturday 23rd May, contributing to a vibrant community-focused event that brought together live music, stalls, and activities for people of all ages.

Invited to host a table in the festival’s Community Tent, DMHA representatives Cheryl Bullion (Clinical Psychologist) and Cindy Dale (Co-Production Lead) spent the day engaging with visitors and sharing valuable information about mental health support available across the area. Their stall featured resources from Devon Mind, Improving Lives Plymouth (ILP), and DMHA, offering a wealth of guidance for those seeking support or looking to learn more.

Throughout the day, Cheryl and Cindy had meaningful conversations with members of the public, many of whom were keen to explore what support services exist within their local community. A key focus of these discussions was signposting to mental health drop-in sessions in Plymouth.

Visitors were particularly excited to hear that the DMHA is expanding it’s drop-in offer in Plymouth to five drop-in spaces, with one open each day (Monday - Friday).

From Monday 8th June, the DMHA will be opening weekly drop-ins in Central Park Hub, Rees Family & Wellbeing Hub Plympton and Efford Family & Wellbeing Hub, in addition to the DMHA’s current weekly offer in Whitleigh and Plymouth City Centre.

Communities are welcome to attend as many drop-ins as they wish and are free to travel across areas. The drop-ins are there to provide a consistent support and open space across the week for anyone who needs it.
