Thanks to everyone who came to the 3rd Plymouth Mental Health Collective community event

The Plymouth Mental Health Collective (PMHC) is an initiative which aims to connect grassroots organisations working for better mental health in their communities to other likeminded organisations in the sector, providing opportunities for collaboration and partnership, information and resource sharing, building capacity, and creating a stronger sense of community.

The PMHC’s 3rd community event last month was a great start to events for 2024! The Collective would like to extend a huge thank-you to all guest speakers and attendees (around 65 in total) at the event. There was an appetite for not only the breakfast (catered by Devonport Live Cafe), but also networking before and after our speakers.

We heard from Plymouth City Council about the suicide prevention strategy for the city, then MoonDogz and Hidden Lives Counselling and Support Hub CIC shared their future collaboration plans. This was followed by Art Craft & Laughter alongside Wellbeing Workshops talked about the benefits of working together in the VCSE sector.

An ‘open mic’ session gave us a chance to hear from Changing Futures Plymouth, Simply Counselling, By the Horns Theatre Company, NIHR SW, Simpila Wellbeing, D&C Directory, Counsellors Southwest, and SALT. Thank you to the historic Devonport Guildhall for providing a fantastic venue once again.
