Systems Change Action Alliance Conference

Members from the DMHA across Devon, including North Devon Community Development Lead Phil Harris, came together for the Systems Change Action Alliance conference in Exeter this past month.

The conference heard from leadership groups pioneering new approaches in Plymouth, researchers working to highlight the impact of trauma that isn't recognised across our medical systems and in one incredibly powerful first-hand account, from a survivor of trauma.

The gathered audience committed new targets for the next year and to continue to work for systems change that recognises the person within the system.

In Northern Devon, we are continuing to work with Systems Change leaders, working with models for change in our communities and demonstrating the value and success that these new approaches have for our communities. Examples include how we relate to our colleagues across sectors, which is often only visible internally, is also the important first step in helping those who work with wellbeing to become familiar with person-centred practices. We aim to 'be the change we wish to see'.
