HOPE Programme starts in Exeter
The Help Overcoming Problems Effectively (HOPE) Programme is a free, 6 week self-management programme, bringing people with similar stories together. These 2.5 hours sessions are run by two Recovery Practitioners, Dee Allbrook and Lind Burd. Covering weekly topics that help reduce emotional dysregulation such as sleep disturbance, goal setting, gratitude keeping, dealing with setback, fatigue management and more.

I think just actually being in a group, with people from all other aspects, and all dealing with similar issues to myself, helped.
I have tried to make an effort to stop and think more and definitely tried some of the different breathing techniques. These do seem to help and I recognise in advance much sooner now that I am heading towards anxiety and stress which enables me to try to ‘cut if off at the pass’ before it overtakes me.
I did have reservations, at first, as to whether I would be able to get anything out of it but glad that I persevered, (mainly because everyone was so nice and that I did start to find it helpful), and would recommend others in a similar situation to give it a go.
